Finding A Way

Right now I am sitting in Kidd Coffee in Middletown, "doing homework" and just really trying to live in the community. After being here for a while wondering what to post and off and on studying, a man with a huge camping style backpack, a guitar, and a coffee cup walked in. I looked at him as he walked in and the first thing he says was, "Do you think they'll accept me?" I didn't really know what he was talking about so I asked and he said he was talking about the Army. After some more conversation he says how he has lived in Middletown's "ghetto" for about 12 years, and for the past several months he has been living on the streets of Middletown. This man (his name is Don) was a truly complex and awesome guy. He pulled out his guitar and began to play random songs he thought up while playing. Don was explaining how much music is a part of his life. He explained how sometimes he just sits down and starts to play in random places. I enjoyed so much, having the chance to talk to Don and figure things out about him. Later he pulled out a small traveling amp for his guitar and started mixing, looping, and just playing some of the coolest stuff I have ever heard. Don has a God given gift for music without a doubt in my mind. I just realized too that Kidd Coffee here holds a live music night on Saturday nights, so since he was telling me that he likes to play for people, I told him about it and he said he will most likely be there. I asked him to come to The Oaks this Sunday too...we'll see what happens. Be praying for Don's safety and for the Lord to just become very apparent to him. If anybody wants to go to Kidd Coffee with me this Saturday to see Don play (which I guarantee you will enjoy), just let me know. God is good!
