Lilly

I got Lilly as an Easter surprise, get it? (Easter Lilly). Anyways, she has been my companion and my best friend since I was 4 years old. I know that sounds stupid or whatever, but its the truth. When I was going through really bad stuff, I came home and cried while I pet Lilly and knew that she would never get mad at me, leave me, or judge me. I could always count on her to be there and when your 10 years old and your parents get divorced, that means more than most would understand.
Today my Dad told me that after he took her to the vet recently, he was suggested to put her to sleep by the vet. Lilly has had a cancer growing on her chin for the past year. She has had 3 surgeries to remove it, all three were thought to be successful, but the cancer came back all three times. At the end of this month, I have to put my best friend, who has been loyal and had unconditional love for me for 14 years, to sleep. This sucks...

Good Things, Not "god" Things

  • What are you most afraid of?
  • Where does your mind, feelings, and/or actions go when you're in pain?
  • What angers you the most?
  • What are the happiest moments of your life?
  • Who's approval are you seeking?

We take what we love and enjoy, and make them "god" things instead of good things (blessings). We worship these false idols which continually fail us. This is because we don't understand the Gospel. Jesus Christ is who will fulfill us fully.

You either worship the Creator or the creation

Matthew 21:31

In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus criticizes those people who prayed, gave to the poor, and sought to live according to the Bible, but they did all of those things in order to get acclaim and power for themselves. They believed they had leverage over other and even over God becasue of the good works they did (Matthew 6:7). Jesus tells these "respectable" and "upright" people this..."The tax collectors and the prostitiutes enter the Kingdom before you" (Matthew 21:31).
If that doesn't convict everyone of us , I dont know what could.

"...it was the Church, not the world, who crucified Christ." ~Karl Barth

Which One?

So basically I want to know what you all think I should buy (Kenny this is the true test to see if people read this thing).

  • I could get a 15" MacBook Pro with a 2.5 GHz processor, 4GB of memory, and a 320GB HD at 5200 rpm.

    or
  • I could get a 20" iMac with a 2.66 GHz processor, 4GB of memory, and a 1TB HD at 7200 rpm. & a 13" MacBook with a 2.4 GHz processor, 4GB of memory, and a 320GB HD at 5400 rpm.

I can get either one of these basically for the same price. I could use the MacBook Pro for everything I do. And if I got the other package I would use my iMac for photo editing and music, while my MacBook would be used for word processing and very simple stuff.

You're Just a Freak...Like Me

So tomorrow is the big day. Its finally here...Heath Ledgers last movie and possibly the best Batman movie ever made. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'. Most critics are estimating that Dark Knight will be the third highest grossing film of all time with and estimated $130 million in the first two days. Here are some "bet you didn't know's":

1)Tickets for midnight screenings sold out so many weeks in advance that thousands of theaters across the US began to open 3 AM and 6 AM showings to accommodate moviegoers.

2)Due to the huge demand to see the trailer, Warner Bros. allowed fans to fill hundreds of theaters around the country to maximum capacity to watch the new trailer just days before it was set to debut with Iron Man. Fans quickly filled the theater, watched the 2 minute 30 second trailer, and left.

3)An explosion was filmed at the Battersea Power Station in London. The fireball created calls from panic-stricken local residents, who assumed a terrorist attack was on the out-of-use Station.

This movie, just by watching the trailers, looks unlike any other movie I've seen.

Without a doubt, The Dark Knight will be the movie to see this summer. Moviegoers will have to order their tickets fast, as most theaters will be selling out sooner than usual.

I'll be back blogging about this movie very soon I'm sure.

Shotgun!

Today I was reading a little bit from wired.com, like I normally do, and saw the title "Laugh At High Gas Prices With a 282-MPG VW", and as far as my interests are concerned...I wouldn't mind having that sort of gas mileage. Now I'm not a "green" guy or anything but think about how much money you'd save...yes please! But of course like everything, there are drawbacks about this new car by VW.
1.) Its ugly
2.) It could cost close to $50,000
3.) It only seats 2, uncomfortably
4.) Its ugly

The car, called One-Liter Car, weighs only 660 lbs. because its body is made of carbon fiber. The engine will be a two-cylinder turbodiesel. When the car comes to a stop sign or stop light the engine will turn off, then start back up when they push the pedal.

I like the idea Volkswagen, lets just fix a few things.

I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

Like I said..uglySHOTGUN!
